    Some people ask if it is possible to track and find their lost phone even when it is off. Sincerely, it might be very hard but today in this article, i will show you somethings you can do to get it back.

    Losing a phone is very very terrible especially considering when you’ve stored a lot about yourself in it, including all our contacts and including wallet details. If you have a password on your phone then its better.

    The question is, can we still track the phone even when its off? let’s talk about that below.

    The clear answer is yes, and it depends on how long it has been switched off. Your phone will stops communicating with the cell towers the moment it switched off, which is also true for all GPS activity as we all know. So you need to act fast in other to find your missing phone.

    Giving report to the police may increase your odds of finding it through your phone’s IMEI number.

    You Can Use Find My Device to Locate Your Android Phone

    Everyone’s Android device that is linked to a Google account can be tracked through Google’s Find My Device service. and it allows you to not only ping your misplaced device (Android phone) but can also lock or erase its contents. You can do that by following the steps:

    1. Visit Google’s Find My Device website on a computer or another phone.
    2. Log into the same Google account as the one on your stolen or lost phone.
    3. You can view compatible devices to the left, including your lost Android phone with its last known location to the right. With all that you can be lucky to find your missing phone.

    what if your phone has been switched off, it will only be able to view the location where it last pinged Google. That may be enough if your phone was lost rather than stolen by someone else. once someone finds and turns your phone on, you can easily ping, erase, or lock it using Find My Device on google.

    Trace Your Steps Using the Google Maps Timeline

    This is also another genius way to find your lost cell phone is by seeing where you have been with Google Map Timeline. With all the reliance that we put on our mobile phones for commuting and finding directions, it is possible that Google Maps has all the detailed history of where your phone has been before so long as your Location History is enabled on the device.

    The surprising thing is that Google Maps Timeline displays every route you’ve taken and every places you’ve visited with that phone. i can assure you that this is a great way to locate your lost or misplaced Android device. Follow the steps to set yours:

    1. open your computer or your phone, open Google Maps and sign in to your Google account.
    2. Click on the menu icon and select Your Timeline from the options. This will bring up a timeline view of your recent outings.
    3. And to narrow down your search, select the date you lost your phone using the drop-down.
    4. By retracing your steps, you may eventually locate where you lost your phone through that.

    Try Track Your Phone Using a Third-Party Apps

    If you did not use Google Maps on your phone always and you don’t have your background data enabled, you might not be able to locate your phone using Google’s services.

    There are few apps and services that constantly ping your last known location. Snapchat or tiktok app is a good example of this. Since you can view someone’s location on both snapchat and tiktok if you enabled the options, you can easily meet your friends to check for your latest whereabouts.

    Also Try to think of any other apps on your phone that might have your last known location stored on it in other for it to help you.
